Love at first sight

Our first OjeOje reading glasses launched in April 2023 and quickly caught people’s attention in stores, on the streets and across social media. The first collection consisted of just four bold designs – from ‘OjeOje A’ to ‘OjeOje D’. Since then, we have expanded the collection to include sunglasses, prescription sunglasses, non-prescription glasses and screen glasses, as well as several new designs.

An eye for the environment

At OjeOje, we focus on design, functionality, fair prices and great quality. For us, it is about creating high-quality eyewear that is made to last. This helps reduce the overconsumption of eyewear and is an important part of our approach to having an eye on the environment.

The colorful look

At OjeOje, we love glasses – especially colorful frames in fabulous shapes. We believe glasses are so much more than a necessity. Your glasses should highlight your eyes, your face and your personality. When you try on a pair of OjeOje glasses, the right feeling should be something you can see, feel – and fall in love with at first sight!

A keen eye for detail

At OjeOje, we have a keen eye for detail – and the expertise to match. Our founder and Creative Director, Mette Wotkjær, has many years of experience in design, interiors and eyewear fashion. Mette has a particular passion for aesthetics, quality and finding ways to give existing materials a new life.

Eye-catching Danish design

OjeOje is a Danish brand with our headquarters, warehouse and showroom north of Copenhagen, where vibrant city life, great shops and endless inspiration are part of everyday life. Today, OjeOje is sold internationally through our own webshops and in many retailers – both large and small – across Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Portugal and Japan. We continue to grow OjeOje in international markets, with the dream of getting everyone to take notice of us!

What are we focusing on?

Here, we have gathered the key things we care about – from materials and design to quality, responsibility and our ambition to make a difference:

We design and produce all our eyewear frames using 50% recycled PC plastic from post-consumer waste (rPC) and 50% virgin PC material. This way, we give materials a new life that might otherwise end up as waste. At the same time, we ensure the strength and durability required of an eyewear frame. The recycled material has been tested by SGS for relevant SVHC substances in accordance with EU REACH regulations.

We work from a slow-fashion mindset, focusing on quality, longevity and more conscious consumption rather than fast-moving trends.

We upcycle existing frames and use surplus textiles from Kvadrat to create hand-sewn fabric cases, made in Denmark by volunteer members of Soroptimist International.

We avoid overproduction by producing according to expected demand. As a result, we do not have clearance sales or seasonal sales.

We repair and reuse our glasses whenever possible, and we accept used OjeOje glasses so they can be given a new life through donations.

We select suppliers based on a focus on responsibility and shared values.

We continuously work to reduce our transportation footprint wherever possible.

We use recycled paper and FSC-certified paper wherever possible, and prioritise production close to our markets.

We support Plastic Change and their work to reduce plastic pollution.

We collaborate with Væksthuset, helping support people who need assistance entering or returning to the labour market.

We donate glasses to countries and communities including Burundi, Kibera, Bangladesh and Ukraine. #everyonehastherighttosee
