You can find out your precise strength by getting an eye test from an optician – but you can also use our age-divided strength guide as a rule of thumb:

35-40 years: +0.5 reading glasses
40-45 years: +1.0 reading glasses
45-50 years: +1.5 reading glasses
50-55 years: +2.0 reading glasses
55-60 years: +2.5 reading glasses
60-65 years: +3.0 reading glasses

– if you're still in doubt and wavering between two strengths, we recommend choosing the lower one.
